Lasik dry eye syndrome is diagnosed by putting a piece of filter paper under your lower eyelid. From this the surgeon will be able to properly measure how well you are producing tears. Another test is to put a few drops of dye in your eyes to monitor the pattern of dryness on the eyeball. The final test is to determine the level of lactoferrin in your eyes, which will indicate if you have dry eye syndrome.

How is lasik dry eye syndrome treated?

Dry eye syndrome can be treated by simply using eye drops. There are prescription products on the market now that will help stimulate your own tear production. Either way, you need to have a thorough exam to determine the exact plan of action needed to combat lasik dry eye syndrome.
